Smalls are the same flower as our full-size lots — same strains, same grows, same cure. They are simply the smaller buds that form lower down the plant, where they catch less light. Trimmed and cured identically, sold by the quarter pound and the pound, with a COA on every batch.
Because size is the only difference, smalls sit well below full-size flower on price per pound. That is why they move fastest with pre-roll and infusion producers who are breaking the bud down anyway. Why the buds are smaller
A cannabis plant does not produce one uniform bud size. The colas at the top take the most light and finish largest; the sites lower down and further inside the canopy finish tighter and smaller. Those smaller buds are smalls. They are not trim, not shake, and not a lesser grade — they come off the same plants in the same rooms and go through the same cure.
Why they cost less per pound
Smalls cost less because bag appeal drives a large share of flower pricing, and smaller buds photograph and display worse than a top cola. The cannabinoid and terpene content is a function of the genetics and the grow, not the bud size. That gap between how it looks and how it smokes is the whole reason the category exists.
It makes smalls the obvious pick if the flower is going to be broken down anyway — pre-rolls, infusions, or any format where nobody sees the bud intact. Compare against full-size THCA flower to see the spread.
Common questions
Are THCA smalls lower quality?
Not inherently. Smalls from a strong indoor run will test and smoke better than full-size buds from a weak one. Judge the lot by its COA and its source, not by bud size. Every batch here ships with lab results.
